Rev McClelland started his own group in November at burnside church which functioned as a section of the 113th Glasgow Troop
185th scout group was started in 1929 registered as 185 Glasgow (Cathkin) Troop by Rev McClelland. The group was part of South Eastern district and part of Greater Glasgow Scout Council till reorganisation in 1960.

Summer camp was at the first Auchengillan Jamboree

Millennium Camp at Auchengillan & Troop 144 from San Diego came over for joint summer camp in Gilwell, London
Cub Day & The group went back to USA and San Diego and Camp Mataguay
Two Leaders (Robbie Gibson & David Morris) from the group were part of the Central Scotland Unit to the Thailand Jamboree
Auchengillan Jamboree we had summer camp.
The Group celebrated its 75th Anniversary at the Hilton East Kilbride
The district changed 1st September form Cambusglen to South East District
The group had third trip to USA, going to San Francisco then to camp Hi Sierra
Two Leaders (Paul Crolla & Gordon Argo) award Queen scout award at Winsor by Queen Elizabeth II and were part of 24 Scottish scouts contingent that year.
Centenary of Scouting, We had one scout Jamie Broadfoot attend the camp in London & The Group attended the Centenary camp at Auchengillan.
1st April 2008 our region changed from Greater Glasgow to Clyde Region & Two Leaders (Paul Crolla & Gordon Argo) awarded Duke of Edinbugh Gold Award at Hollyrood.

Beaver Celebrate 30 years & The beavers and cubs both attended the district sleep over at the Glasgow science centre for 100 years of cubs and 30 years of Beavers
The group celebrated 90th year and we had a group camp at Auchengillan and a Coffee morning


Covid-19 pandemic and face to face meeting were cancel from 17th March
On 3rd April we launched 185challange every Friday on twitter
Then 1st May we started to meet remotely over zoom for Beaver first then Cub and Scouts
The group were meant to have trip to Kandersteg which was cancelled
Group started to meet face to face after easter 23rd April in outdoor areas, such as church grounds, overton park, furnbrae meadow, etc
3rd Sept we started to meet back in the hall
Queens Platinum Jubilee
We started squirrel section with 3 leaders and 15 squirrel in April & September first Squirrels were invested
